COVID-19 Update from RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate

Dear Clients, Friends, and Sea to Sky Community Members,

This message is not meant to alarm the general public or our clients and friends, but instead to reassure them that our office and our agents are taking precautionary measures to protect you and your loved ones in the midst of the current CoronaVirus outbreak. At this time, we are not aware of any cases in the Sea to Sky Corridor, but we are a global destination and as such we are vigilantly following the news and recommendations from Health Canada, the British Columbia Provincial Government, the Canadian Federal Government, and Vancouver Coastal Health.

RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate is currently open during our regular hours and we intend to remain open to serve our agents and their clients unless or until otherwise directed by government health officials, or required by staffing constraints. We have advised all staff, REALTORS®, their assistants, and other independent contractors working under the RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate offices to abide by the following directorates:

1. All staff and independent contractors returning from travel to foreign countries must refrain from going to work (including at our offices) or school for 14 days starting the date of their return to Canada.
2. All staff and/or independent contractors who are experiencing cold or flu symptoms are to refrain from coming into the office.
3. All staff or independent contractors are to refrain from coming into the office if they or someone who lives with them test positive for the coronavirus, for 14 days.
4. We strongly encourage increased hand washing and decreased face touching!
5. Our staff are diligently wiping down office door handles, table tops, reception desks, phone receivers, and computer mice with antiviral/antibacterial disinfectant between visitors, and before closing the office each day.
6. Our staff are also cleaning property keys, including key chains and key fobs as they are returned to our office with antiviral/antibacterial disinfectant.

For our property sellers: we understand if you are nervous about potential buyers visiting your property. We also understand that you would like to sell your property. We have advised our agents to make sure that they are disinfecting their hands, and that they are opening all doors for potential buyers while in your property. We have asked that our agents ensure potential buyers do not touch surfaces in your home – this protects them as well. Additionally, we are able to provide Matterport 3D tours of your property to show potential buyers in efforts to limit the number of people through your home. We have 3 staff members who are trained on operating these cameras and each has been instructed to follow our health and safety protocols while taking the 3D images of your home or property.

For all of our clients, please understand that we will of course greet you emphatically, while perhaps refraining from shaking hands. We see a lot of people everyday and we want to protect you and your families as well as our communities. Also, we can send any and all documentation required for signatures electronically if you prefer, to avoid surface transmission of COVID19. Your RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate agent or property manager is adept at using technology and digital signature programs for your convenience and benefit.

We hope that with a little extra effort on our part and yours, we can slow the spread of this virus, protect you and your loved ones, and maintain some normalcy in day-to-day business as we attempt to also mitigate effects on our economy. We thank you for your patience and vigilance.
